Is Jignesh Shah 'Fit and Proper'?

This blog is a signature analysis of Jignesh Shah, the director of Financial technologies(FT) who is under scanner for NSEL scam. In 2007 Finance Ministry had remarked that the promoter of FT is not 'fit and proper'  to even buy shares in the exchange. He managed not only to buy the shares but also a permission to start a new exchange MCX- SX.

When they were not 'fit and proper' to hold even 5% shares MCX and FT owned the new exchange 100% ! Even when there were many discrepancies and promoters found 'dishonest' the licences were renewed not once but twice.

Signature Analysis of Jignesh Shah:

   The big capitals show that Jignesh Shah has good leadership capacity.
 The tall capitals with an ascension to the signature shows strong vision about achievements.
 Determination and sustenance required for persisting through long projects and difficult times is present. This is seen the wide cross bar of letter J.
 The signature is quiet legible except the S of Shah. Combined with the good cross bar the legibility means that there is a very strong capacity to take things ahead.
 The upper zone stokes of h are retraced but tall that shows lot of tried and tested ideas.
 The line below the signature is like a platform he has got or the support he got from others, may it be government, investors, traders, employees, etc.
 There are three dots under the signature it shows that he always has a feeling that he is wasting time interacting with people.

What went wrong?

 The big claw in the first letter J shows that the initiatives he takes are often very impressive but deceptive. He is always aware that his success will be at the cost of someone’s trust. Fowl play is seen. The retraced upper zone strokes say that he deliberately controls expression of lot of ideas. But if you observe the last h it tilts to the right. The rightward tilting or slant of the letters shows his sudden impulsiveness at the end. So at the end all the activities for which he got support go wasted. 

This is card No. 59 from the deck of 72 Grapho Cards. On comparing the J in Jignesh Shah's signature with that in the card you will notice that you are looking at the signature of a person who is NOT 'fit and proper' to take care of your money.

Amartya Sen, Redistribution and the Uncertain Glory

Here is a signature analysis of Amartya Sen, the economist who speaks about social welfare, economic and social justice, economics of developing countries and well being of citizens of poor countries.

What catches the eye is a big S formed by making an arcade. This S means that Amartya Sen is a sympathetic person who prefers not to speak about the charitable works but act for charity and upliftment of poor. He is an emotional person with a strong attachment towards his country and people. That S is a symbol of his emphasis on redistribution as a means to fight poverty.

The signature begins with a big lower case a. The good thing is- it is taller than all other letters. The other side is- it is a lower case letter. Although Dr Amartya Sen has a vision and initiative taking ability, he is unable to show the charisma and take a lead role. Using a capital letter means understanding what is more important- Priorities. He can speak on everything but when you ask him of what is more important he will create controversies and debates. The big but not capital 'a' in the beginning is what Jagdish Bhagwati calls Amartya Sen's theory- Putting the cart before the horse.

The U-turn Y:
The y in the signature goes down, attempts to return up but then shies away and returns downwards. This shows an aversion for success, glory and celebrations.

The dot at the end: 
The dot at the end shows decisiveness and steadfastness. Amartya Sen's signature ends with that dot. It is like a full stop. It says- this is it!

So that's Amartya Sen from his signature.

The Name of the book begins and ends with a same stroke this stroke in Graphology is called as a felons claw: Observe the last stroke in the y in Glory. You can see the same stroke in the capital A of An. It is also there in the lower case a of uncertain. That's a stroke which speaks of cheating.

Is there a cheated feeling in the readers mind after reading the book? or are the authors feeling cheated by the publishers and the readers?

Choti si Asha of Asharam Bapu

 Asharam Bapu, the spiritual leader from India is arrested for sexual assualt of a 16 year old.Popular for his political links and 2 crore fan following, he has been accused of land grabbing and involvement in some murders. His ashram was in news for unnatural deaths of some students.



Here's, his handwriting and signature sample with my analysis.

1. The strokes going in the lower zone where they are not a natural formation in the script: Lower zone is the zone of desires for sex and money. When the writing or signature goes in the lower zone at the wrong places it shows the person's expectations of fulfilling such desires in a wrong way.
2. The first letter of the signature is large and wide with a hook: The first formation in the signature is very important when it comes to leadership. Here the letter is big and wide. Asharam Bapu has been widely accepted as a God-man. He has a large following. He has taken many initiatives. But the first letter letter fails to rise in the upper zone instead it dives in the lower zone. So the initiatives Asharam Bapu has taken have been wealth amassing activities. The hook at the end of the first stroke of his signature shows "KICK ME" behaviour where he invites problems for himself. The stroke also speaks about taking advantage of weak helpless needy people and their exploitation for money and sex. Although the first letter is widespread , the lower part is squeezed. That shows exploitation of people who look upon him as a saviour.
3.   Backward Slant: A backward or leftward slant shows inability express his feelings and suppression of desires. When emotions like desire for sex are suppressed forcibly they vent out in odd ways. May be that is the reason why he loves to play holi and dance in satsangs. 
4. Cross bars: The handwriting of Asharam shows broken cross bars with lot of club strokes. But the cross bars go missing in the signature.  It shows that he is different in public and in personal life. The principles he believes in may not be followed by himself in his public life. the club strokes tell that he is filled with lot of anger. 
5. Legibility: As a rule of thumb legible handwriting and signature means clarity and transparency, but the analysis would go for a six if we do not consider all the other aspects too. Legibility and large first letter have contributed to his success.

Fiza a

While teaching about different types of letter "a" people write, I mentioned the Fiza a. I asked the students whether they had watched the movie fiza and to my surprise not a single person in the classroom except me had watched the movie. And so this blog for all my students.

Khalid Mohammed, son of film actress Zubeida Begum is an Indian journalist, editor, film critic, screen writer and film director. He formerly worked for the Hindustan Times and was the lead editor for Filmfare magazine. He was well known as a film critic and it was said that if a movie gets four star rating from Khalid Mohamed the film becomes a superhit. In his duration as critic he gave five stars only to two movies Satya and Slumdog millionaire.

Having such a strong knowledge of Bollywood movies, it was assumed that Khalid would also be a successful screenplay director and director. He directed four movies. The first was fiza (2000)

Fiza was a box office flop. Although the casting and crew was the best in the industry. Hrithik Roshan had just given a Blockbuster Kaho naa pyaar hain thus the movie got a good start and expectations were raised. Everyone in the movie won awards for the performance. But the movie was a miserable flop.

It must have been a hard lesson for Khalid Mohammed. Finding mistakes in a movie for writing critic columns and scripting & directing a flawless movie is not the same.

Although, he could understand this only after actually writing and directing movies, this was clearly visible as the writing on the wall. Literally. Because the letter "a" used in the name of the movie "fiza" showed that he had bookish knowledge which was not practical.



A person who writes this kind of a has lot of bookish knowledge but when he tries to apply it actually he fails miserably.

Mechanical in Arts

I was discussing about this type of r in my classes one day and one of the students said that, " This formation is very common in japanese or chinese language. Most of the script is like boxes. What does it say about these people in general?"

It shows that in general these people who have many box type formations in the script/writing have a mechanical approach towards art. Martial arts or dance forms of chinese people seem to be very mechanical and technical. Here are some photograps a friend had shared with me. They speak more than what I tried to explain about mechanical approach towards art.

A friend indeed

There are times when you are helpless. A flat tire on a lonely long highway. A huge table piece to be shifted from your study room. Lot of luggage. A long queue at the ticket counter. The door got locked and you are left outside the house without the keys. You forget your exam hall ticket for the exams.
Imagine what a relief you would feel if there is someone who readily agrees to help you out!

The people who write p in their handwriting with an antenna are the ones who rescue others by giving physical help. They feel happy by extending a helping hand.

Living for the sake of life

The person crossing non- consecutive t's in the writing with a common cross bar shows melancholic-depression.
This person has thoughts of worthlessness. He is having feelings like guilt, low self esteem, hopelessness, agitation, lack of attention or inner agitation.
They might have ideas of suicide.
A very serious personality trait which requires immediate psychiatric attention. Trying to discuss the issue with them by close friends can prove to be counter-productive.

These writers cannot resist the urge to possess the things which do not belong to them. They have a habit of shoplifting, using office stationery for personal use, etc.

Kleptomania is a strong desire to steal. Often a kleptomaniac person steals things he could have bought easily or things that are not at all expensive. The person steals just for the tension or the kick. Kleptomania can be the result of emotional shortcomings during the youth. These patients have an irresistible inclination to steal. Often they throw away the stolen goods. They are mostly interested in the kick of the stealing itself. Although psychiatrists consider kleptomania as a disease, this is not a legal excuse in the court of law.

Strugglers versus Strivers

Words are very confusing. The basic difference in the connotation of the words "strive" and "struggle" is that "to strive" is to put efforts for achievement whereas "to struggle" is to put efforts for getting out of a problem or trouble.

In that sense, struggle is a negative and strive is a positive trait.

The formations shown in the card below represent the thoughts of cheating betraying etc. These people attract problems and troubles for themselves. They have to struggle to get out of these problems which they create for themselves. These are definitely the strugglers

Strivers are the people who have decided to put extra efforts by choice. They have aimed a bit higher and there are no gains without pains so they have to strive for their higher goals. The formation in the next card is of the striver.

It should be noticed that the struggler has no choice but to struggle when he is in a problem and the striver is striving by choice. Struggle is for surviving striving is for growth.

Do you aim high enough?

Perfectly Perfect

Have you heard of the person who decided not enter the water unless he knows to swim perfectly?

Some people are perfectionists by nature. They cannot accept anything less than perfect. It is not important to be the highest scorer in exams for them. They want to score 10/10.

Perfectionists also expect perfection from others. Perfectionists are very critical about themselves and others. Their worries about the unmet goals outweigh the satisfaction about achieved goals. A less known fact about perfectionists is, they are not driven by the desire to succeed but they are driven by the fear of failure. The self talk of a perfectionist is very critical and negative sometimes.

This is a phrase from North India. The story behind this phrase goes like this:

There was a lady in a small village who always wanted to get noticed and appreciated. She saw to it that her friends would praise her new saree, mehndi, chappals etc. She would fell very delighted when someone would notice and praise her new bindi or her hair style.

But his time no one noticed her new bangles and she was dying to be appreciated.

Every one came shouting and threw water on the house. When the fire got extinguished one lady asked her did you get burns anywhere? She immediately showed her hands. Someone got a medicine to apply. While applying medicine the lady noticed the new bangles and said ," Oh, you have got very beautiful bangles!" Hearing this she says" The house got burnt and now you are asking about the bangles"

That's the story of people who desperately seek attention. They can go to any extent to be noticed.

He telling a joke.. Laugh!

In this article, I am using excerpts from Osho’s discourse on Akshay Upanishad. You will find it easy to understand how letter K in the handwriting (which stands for romance) shows the ability to crack a joke effectively. Osho explains the process of telling a joke in a very analytical way.

This is worth considering. It is significant. The first thing to understand is that except for man, no animal is capable of laughter. So laughter shows a very high peak in the evolution of life. If you go out on the street and see a buffalo laughing, you will be scared to death. And if you report it, then nobody will believe that it can happen. It is impossible. Why don’t animals laugh? Why can’t trees laugh?

There is a very deep cause for laughter. Only that animal can laugh which can get bored. Animals and trees are not bored. Boredom and laughter are the polar dualities, these are the polar opposites. They go together. And man is the only animal that is bored. Boredom is the symbol of humanity.

Look at dogs and cats; they are never bored. Man seems to be deep in boredom. Why aren’t other animals bored? Why does man alone suffer boredom?

“The higher the intelligence, the greater is boredom. The lower intelligence is not bored so much.”

“Laughter is needed for you to exist. Otherwise, you will commit suicide.”

"Now try to understand the mechanism of laughter and how it happens. If I tell a joke, why do you laugh? What makes you laugh. What happens? What is the inner mechanism?

If I tell a joke expectation is created. You start expecting. Your mind starts searching for what the end will be. And

you cannot conceive the end.

A joke moves in two dimensions. First it moves in a logical dimension. You can conceive it. If the joke goes on logically to the very end, it will cease to be a joke; there will be no laughter. So suddenly the joke takes a turn and becomes so illogical that you cannot conceive it. And when the

joke takes a turn and the result becomes illogical; then the expectation, the tension that was created in you, suddenly explodes. You relax. Laughter comes out.

"Laughter is the relaxation. But tension is first needed. A story creates expectation, suspense and tension. You start feeling the crescendo. Now the crescendo will come. Something is going to happen. Your backbone is straight like that of a yogi. You have no more thoughts in the mind. The whole being is just waiting. All the energy is moving toward the conclusion. Suddenly something happens which the mind could not think of. Something absurd happens – something illogical, irrational. The end is such that it was impossible for logic to think about it. And you explode. The whole energy that had become tense inside you suddenly gets relaxed. Laughter comes out through this relaxation.

Man is bored. Hence he needs laughter. The more bored, the more laughter he will need. Otherwise, he cannot exist.
